Cody is One!

044

I can’t believe that a year has come and gone and our baby boy is now a toddler!

On the 19th we celebrated with monkey cupcakes at Mardie’s house (Karaline was a great cupcake artist!).

039

We also had cake (vanilla) and ice cream (banana) and a few presents (Good Night Scout book from Mommy & Daddy and Fisher Price T-ball from Karaline) at home that night.

We were joined by family on friends at a party on Sunday.  More pictures to come (they are on Grandma and Paw Paws camera!).

Size: 28 lbs, 32 in.

What You’re Wearing: 24 months, mostly 2T (the shorts kind of look like capris!), size 4 wide shoes, size 4 diapers

Firsts: standing without holding on to anything, walking (pinkie to pinkie contact is all you need), lots of babbling and shrieking!

Head to Toe:  you need a haircut!  Mommy has to tuck your hair behind your ears.  First official shoes from Stride Right!

Loves: throwing balls, driving cars and trucks, anything that belongs to sister, and cruising on his Mater truck!

Dislikes:  not having someone play with him

Eating: everything!  When we go out to eat we now have to buy you a kids meal – didn’t have to do that for Karaline until she was 2!!  Love graham crackers and HOMEMADE ICECREAM!   Milk and juice are favorites, but only in a NUK cup!!

Sleeping: you continue to be a good sleeper.  However, with the end of the school year, the start of t-ball, and it not getting dark until 9:00, we have not been good at having a consistent bedtime schedule. Daddy still rocks you You still rock daddy to sleep most evenings after stories with mommy and sister.

Tiny Dancer

I cannot say enough great things about Dance Academy at the Northwest Y.  Karaline has learned so much this year!  Not only have her dance skills improved, but her poise, concentration, confidence, and discipline for practice have improved as well.  Her instructor, Miss Elizabeth, was wonderful, and Karaline and I both made new friends.

Seeing her all dolled up in her costume and makeup made me wonder where my little girl went!  In fact, on the day of the recital, we were in the bathroom at the auditorium putting the finishing touches on, when Grandma walked in and right past us.  Karaline said, “Hello, Grandma!”  Grandma hadn’t even recognized her!

We are so proud of her.  We are taking a break from dance this summer while we play t-ball, but will sign up again in the fall if Karaline still wants to do it!

A special thanks to the people who provided her recital and costume fees!!  And to all of her fans who attended watch weeks, Breakfast with Santa, and her Spring Recital!
