4 months old

.: Stats- We think 20 lbs. and 26 in.  (We’ll know for sure on Friday after the 4 month check up).  2 more pounds and you will have outgrown your infant car carrier!

.: What You’re Wearing- a mixture of 3 – 6 month and 6 – 9 month clothes, size 2 diapers, 3s at night to prevent flooding

.: Firsts- rolling from back to tummy, lots of smiles, you love to goo, burble, and talk to us, grabbing at toys and bringing them to your mouth.  This morning you were using the hanging rings on your gym to try and pull yourself up to sitting.  In your car carrier your try to sit straight up.  I am worried you are going to choke yourself with the straps.  You are going to have a baby six pack and the strongest abs of any baby, ever!

.: From Head To Toe- hair is coming in lighter, eyes are BLUE, everyone says you look like your daddy.  It is hard to argue with that!

.: Loves- monkey blanket toys, hanging toys from gym, sitting up like a big boy.

.: Dislikes-  being hungry, being held like a baby.

.: Eating- 8 oz. first thing in the morning, a couple of bottles at  Mardie’s, and then eating constantly from 5 – 8:30!

.: Sleeping- All night!!

.: Misc Facts- First wedding, Allison Moffitt & John Tucker, Jennifer’s birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese, Labor Day at Kelly & Sam’s, .

Stop this Train, I Wanna Get OFF!

Yes, I realize it has been a MONTH since I have written on the blog.  If you’ve been anxiously awaiting this latest installment, you need to get a life!  But seriously,  the Scott family has been so busy living life, we’ve had NO TIME to blog about it!

The school year always starts off busy and hectic, but this year seemed especially more so.  After teaming for 4 year with my “work wife”, she was given an amazing opportunity to become a reading specialist.  So, I’ve been adjusting to many new changes at work. I have a wonderful class.  I am so thankful that I have such sweet, good, willing kiddos!  We have also had big schedule changes with the implementation of tier times (don’t get me started on my mixed feelings about this!).  It has all been kind of a headache.  With school starting again it means nights of grading, planning, and preparing.  It seems the paperwork is endless.  Some nights it has seemed like I am drowning in it.

Meanwhile, we have had something nearly every day: PTO meetings, Sunday school, church, Kristina’s quasi-commitment to exercise at the Y, WOW, food team meetings, Lord’s Acre meetings, Karaline’s Dance Academy class, birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese036 , and listening to Jeanette Walls (author of Glass Castle and Half Broke Horses – you gotta read these) in the middle of a hail storm.  Oh yea, let’s now forget about the hail storm – softball sized beauties requiring roof repairs, but according to USAA, not enough to warrant a new roof, therefore putting us at the bottom of every company’s to do list.   Thankfully neither of our vehicles suffered any damage.  AND in the midst of all of this, Cody’s formula was RECALLED!!  Yes, that’s right, recalled.  Sam’s gave us refunds on the 3 canisters we had bought (2 of which were nearly empty – 1 from our house and 1 at Mardie’s and 1 never opened).  He seems no worse for the wear.  Besides, bug parts, which are supposedly the culprit behind the recall are protein, right?  I mean, my growing boy could use the added vitamins, right?   If I don’t laugh about it, I’d totally cry!

Every weekend has been jammed packed, too. Family pictures, 0093 Labor Day was spent at Kelly & Sam’s clearing trees from their backyard, Cropaganza weekend with the girlsganza 10 , Bluegrass weekend,051

103 and here we are at the end of September!   With being gone every weekend the housework and laundry has really been piling up.

Fast forward to this weekend – Andy is at inventory, so I am a work wido    w.  Friday night was spent doing whatever Karaline wanted – McDonalds, Ben & Jerrys, and the new Tinkerbell movie (thank you God that it was something CHEAP and EASY).

Today we had dance class (I am so proud that she is such a good listener in class and is independent enough to go into class like a big girl.  When you see her next to some of the other girls who are crying, not listening, or playing instead of dancing, it really makes a mommy proud!)  and then it was time to tackle our FILTHY DISGUSTING house.  I am happy to say that Karaline was a HUGE help.  She totally earned her new polly pocket and I am no longer completely disgusted by the grime that was lurking in every corner.  Okay, I have to confess we didn’t totally get finished.  I saved cleaning the shower for Andy or at least until I go and buy a scum buster.  DAMN you hard water stains!!  I absolutely loathe cleaning the house.   If anyone needs a Christmas idea a Merry Maid would be awesome and much appreciated.   I am so lucky that Andy helps as much as he does.  With both of us working and being so busy, it is a wonder that we ever have a clean dish or article of clothing.  Speaking of clean clothes…my well meaning husband is great about washing laundry and drying it,but apparently that is where the process ends for him.  So consequently, there were baskets of unfolded clothes in nearly every room of our house.   Just the sight of those little buggers was stressing me out.  Like silent little billboards taunting me.  I had to resist the urge not to throw them all in a bag and drive them over to the Clothes Closet instead of folding them!

Dinner tonight – Pizza Hut take out and another viewing of Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue.  Hopefully when Andy gets home we’ll watch one of the Nextflix movies that have been sitting on top of the tv for the last 6 weeks.

October doesn’t look to be slowing down any with Fall Festival, Lord’s Acre, our annual chili supper, and HALLOWEEN!  Catch us if you can!
